World Down Syndrome Day

In the spirit of the small moments being profound and in honor of March 21st (3-21) being World Down syndrome Day, let’s celebrate with our own 3 truths: one fact, one fallacy and one photo. These can be related to Down syndrome, to the spirit of inclusion, advocacy/awareness – whatever makes sense to you.   Visit Meriah's blog hop here

  Fact: It was once thought that people with Down Syndrome would only live till 20. However, our cousin is now in her 50's.

 Fallacy: Many people think that babies with Down Syndrome are fragile. Our little man shakes off shots better than some adult men. He barely flinches when splashed; he just wipes off the water and goes on. He can wrestle with the best of them.

 -I can dance better than daddy can!
-Straws do not like to be dunked in drinks. They tell me this and I save them from the liquid.
-You look better without your glasses. It does not matter who you are; I will relieve you of them.
 -My therapists say I should crawl more. But rolling from room to room is more fun. That's how I roll!

So sweet!   Tyler is medically healthy outside of his Down syndrome.  He will so greatly benefit from early intervention and a loving family!

$1240.80 is available towards the cost of my adoption!
** This child is in a country that is currently not accepting new commitments.  We can no longer accept grant donations or inquiries for this child, but we have not given up on any of these children and encourage all of our Prayer Warriors to continue their efforts!  All grant funds shown below are intact and still with this child at this time.   When and if this country program re-opens for adoptions, we will relist this child and begin seeking an adoptive family immediately.**
